Common Name: B6J NASH
The Jackson Laboratory Japan, Inc. produces and supplies NASH model mice (SPF), in witch C57BL/6J mice are fed RESEARCH DIETS, Inc.'s A06071302 (60Kcal %fat) for a certain period to develop NASH (nonalcoholic steatohepatitis) like pathology. We also offer production by A06071309 (45Kcal %fat).
This model animal has been fed and grown on Research Diet's NASH-inducing diet. Due to their high-fat diet, they do not lose weight, but some glossy coat may be observed. After approximately 1 week of feeding this diet, fatty liver develops, and after 6 weeks of feeding, fibrosis (elevated hydrocyciproline levels) develops and NASH-like pathology is observed. They do not become emaciated as in the MCD (methionine-choline deficient diet) feeding model.
