Common Name: C.B-17 SCID Discovered in 1980 by Bosma in C.B-17/Icr mice. In 1989, Charles River Group's IFFA CREDO signed license with Fox Chase Cancer Center and introduced strain (FOX CHASE SCID) to Charles River (CRUS) in 1991. To Charles River Laboratories Japan, Inc. [predecessor of The Jackson Laboratory Japan, Inc.] in 1992. Began supplying in 1993.

Lineage Details

Lack of functional T and B cells in the peripheral blood and little or no immunoglobulin found in the serum with severe combined immunodeficiency. (Leaky mouse may appear.) Various immunology studies, anti-tumor studies, allogeneic xenografts and xenografts are possible.
